Demon Slayer: Mugen Train proved to be a huge success upon its theatrical release, and the film’s impact continues to be huge. Fans of the anime recently spotted the movie’s theme song on US Secretary of State Antony Blinken’s Spotify playlist. It seems even the top government official is a fan of Japanese singer-songwriter LiSA.

Whenever a new year arrives, celebrities and politicians share the media they have enjoyed over the past 12 months. And that’s exactly what US Secretary of State Antony Blinken did, creating two Spotify playlists containing the tracks he listened to throughout 2021.

He shared his playlists on Twitter, highlighting how important it is to listen to a wide range of music:

“Music brings people together – it transcends borders and everything that might otherwise divide us. As we wind down 2021, I’m sharing some of my favorite songs released this year (or recently), by artists around the world. Hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

Blinken certainly has a variety of hits on both their “On the Road” and “At Home” roundups. One song, in particular, struck anime fans: “Homura” by LiSA, which served as the theme for Demon slayerthe recent movie by.

That’s right, the US Secretary of State is a fan of “Homura” from LiSA. The 2020 single is on his “On the Road” playlist, and given its success, that should come as no surprise. Per Billboard, “Homura” topped the Japan Hot 100 charts for seven weeks after its release.

Does this mean that the Secretary of State has benefited from the Demon Slayer: Mugen Train movie? It’s hard to say. Obviously he listens to a range of music from all over the world. LiSA may have found its way onto her playlist in another way. However, Demon Slayer: Mugen Train broke box office records – so it certainly could have caught Blinken’s attention.

No matter what drew Blinken to “Homura,” it’s exciting to see Japanese singer-songwriter LiSA receiving the applause she deserves. What else has she been working on besides the theme of Demon slayerthe recent movie?

LiSA has a number of well known hits, but she has become known for it Demon slayer themes over the past two years. “Homura” isn’t the only track she sang for the anime. His song “Akeboshi” recently served as the opening for the show’s Mugen Train Arc.
